One of the things I feel very fortunate about it howI have such a good Goat owner community here. One of the herds I have loved is Sky Paint Homestead. Jessi, the owner has given so much time and encouragement to me over the years with owning Goats. Answering so many of my questions and mentoring me. I have had the privilege of farm sitting for Jessi and really getting to know her herd. From day one of her arriving, I fell in love with Lemon, i had the opportunity to milk her and LOVED it. She is a beautiful doe, broad nose, gentle but firm. A dream to milk, large orifices, so the milk comes out easily and and just loved being around her. In the spring of ‘23 I went and assisted Jessi with Lemon’s kidding. (Lemon was having multiples and its less stressful having a friend to be around for moral support and to help dry kids off). Out first came a dark multi colored Doeling. I fell in love with her straight away. She had other babies following. But I kept thinking about this one doeling, I didn’t tell Jessi this, but it was most days. Jessi at the time decided to retain both of Lemon’s doelings, so it wasnt an option to have her join my herd. 4 months later, I was talking to Jessi and she felt like she needed to sell some of her Doelings. I jumped at the chance, knowing I would love to have them in our herd. And for my extreme excitement Lemons first born, the Doeling I loved was one of them. I could have cried. From day one she has been the sweetest. Such a loving and calm personality like her mom. She also came with all the amazing genetics from her sire Rye ( who I also love) and she is THE best. Comes for snuggles, has a lovely wide rump and face, like her Dam, stands with poise, so far really good parasite resistance, super hardy. Im so happy she is in our herd. I love her so much and she will be with me for a long time! Welcome to the herd Rosemary. You were loved even before you came to our farm. Thank you Jessi for sharing your girls with us!
