Jessi from Sky Paint Homestead had some doelings for sale. Originally I had just noticed Rain, a beautiful Buck skin with blue eyes. I knew I wanted to bring a friend to help with the stress, and Jessi told me about Ruby. To my delight her Dam was Ahna. I loved milking Ahna, the heard Queen of Sky Paint, amazing long teats, so easy to milk. She is also cousins to Rain who joined us. Ruby comes packed with amazing genetics. To me, she is the hidden Gem of our herd, has a lovely calm temperament. Ruby would kind of be in the back ground, but she has this little call that sounds like a Lamb baaing! As she gets older, i’m seeing this hidden inner strength that she had from with in and she loves to stand near me to wait to be petted. She has gone through her awkward stage that all Does go through, larger head and smaller body and is coming through the other side. Each day I look at her i think ‘Wow”. She has an amazing top line, lovely wide rump for kidding. She has been very parasite resistant, with a calm demeanor and her coat is so lovely and thick. It feels like a huge privilege to have her in our herd and to watch her grow up here. Sadly her Dam Ahna passed away in June’23, a lovely old age at the matriarch of Sky Paint Homestead. I am certain that this sweet Girl will be with us until old age too which is such a lovely feeling to have. We love you Ruby!
